Isaac Maimon
Isaac Maimon was born in Israel in 1951. From early on he exhibited an early artistic ability that was enthusiastically supported by his family. After serving his time in the military, Maimon attended the famed Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv where he graduated with honors. In 1980, Maimon began teaching at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheba and in the late 80's he became a professor at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheba. During this time Maimon began an association that enabled him to build and manage coffeehouses. He became a restaurateur and pub owner.Always the artist, he was often found sitting at a back table sketching the characters surrounding him...

After serving his time in the military, Maimon attended the famed Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv where he graduated with honors. In 1980, Maimon began teaching at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheba and in the late 80's he became a professor at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheba. During this time Maimon began an association that enabled him to build and manage coffeehouses. He became a restaurateur and pub owner.Always the artist, he was often found sitting at a back table sketching the characters surrounding him. He would sketch from life and then go back to his studio to put color to the ideas on canvas. His interest in the Paris School cultivated and nurtured in these paintings done at his bars where one can easily detect the influence of famed coffee houses and bars painter Toulouse- Lautrec as well as a color palette reminiscent of Henri Matisse Maimon held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Israel. His art is also displayed each year at the Art Expo in New York as well as in expositions in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Japan. In addition, Maimon tours the United States annually with a series of one-man shows every fall.
